Available May 23 – Lady Gaga “Born This Way”

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, more commonly known under the alias of Lady Gaga, has been making her way up the charts for the past six years. The twenty-five year old artist hails from New York, New York. Her passion for music started at a young age. As a child she took piano lessons that led to early admission to NYC’s Tisch School of the Arts.

It was there she realized that her future career would focus on “music, art, sex, and celebrity.” Though she has established quite a career in a relatively short period of time, she originally was hired to write songs for huge names like Britney Spears, New Kids on the Block, and The Pussycat Dolls.

Both of her previous albums have been nominated for a variety of awards 249 times., coming home with more than a hundred wins. “Born This Way” is rumored to be Gaga’s “freedom album.” Gaga plans to appear on Good Morning America on May 27 after the release of the album, and then in June she is set to perform at the MTV Japan Awards.

Available May 31 – Death Cab For Cutie “Codes and Keys”

This American indie rock band was formed in 1997 in Bellingham, Washington. The group consists of Ben Gibbard (vocals, guitar), Chris Walla (guitar), Nick Harmer (bass), and Jason McGerr (drums). Their music has been featured in television shows such as The O.C. and Californication as well as films Wedding Crashers and Mean Creek.

Their seventh studio album, “Codes and Keys,” has been revealed to be “a much less guitar-centric album” by members Gibbard and Har-mer. Death Cab for Cutie will be on the road beginning July 27 in Columbus, Ohio, and will be sharing the stage with Bright Eyes and Frightened Rabbit.
