Changes to fall registration priority may create problems for long-time students
by Christina Noble
Budgets cuts for the 2011-2012 academic year will result in a reduction of 300-350 courses over the upcoming Summer, Fall, and Spring terms.
This will affect the Fall 2011 priority registration system. The Fall registration period will be moved from the month of May to the month of July.
Changes for the Fall 2011 registration process include: a review of academic standing (i.e., a GPA at 2.0 or above) and long-term unit accumulation will determine when a student will be allowed to register.
The new priority registration will now check to see whether a student has completed over 100 units at COD, if a student is on academic or progress probation or disqualification. All students who fall in this category will be moved to the Open Enrollment period.
