The Palm Springs Art museum has been hosting the Day of the Dead the last week in October for the past eight years. This event is mainly to allow people from the Coachella Valley to experience what the Day of the Dead really is. They want the community to get a taste of not only the cultural side but also experience the spirituality. “This is part of our life style, and in the end whether we want to say it or not, eventually we are all gonna die. So in a way you are mocking death with the sugar skulls, but with the rose pedals you are welcoming the spirits of your love ones,” said Irene Rodriguez, the Associate Director of Education of the Arts.
