On Saturday December 14th, Desert Friends of the Developmentally Disabled & Desert Recreation District (DFDD) is presenting their 3rd annual Great Santa Run event. DFDD is a public benefit charity that is devoted to helping the lives of developmentally disabled children and adults in the Coachella Valley and Riverside County.

The event is a four mile run/walk that provides an opportunity to help support the local charity. All the proceeds for this event will be given to We Care Dental in Rancho Mirage, a dental center created by DFDD, that is devoted to serving those with unmet dental needs and developmental disabilities.

The Great Santa Run will take place at 8 a.m. at the Palm Desert Civic Park.  The registration fees are $15 dollars for children and $35 for adults. For those planning on attending the event, feel free to dress up, as DFDD states that their goal is to break the world record for the amount of Santas in one location, to be recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records.
