Riverside County Fair and Date Festival opened in Indio

The 68th annual Riverside County Date Festival opened it’s doors to the general public from Friday, February 14 until Tuesday, February 24, 2014.

The Fair contains several rides, where children and their parents can enjoy a good time with family and friends. Attendees will also have a variety of options when deciding on what they would like to eat. There will be food concessions ranging from barbecue, to people’s favorites, cotton candy and popcorn.

Along with the rides, people will be able to hear famous bands that the Date Festival has booked. Expect performances by Daughtry, Gary Sinise and the Lieutenant Dan Band, Five for Fighting, and Kool and the Gang.

Admission is free for veterans and children under five years of age, $9 for adults, and $8 for senior citizens; parking is $8.

The Fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and until midnight on weekends. The Riverside County Fairgrounds is located at 82-503 Hwy 111 in Indio.  For more information about the festivities, visit www.datefest.org.
