The College of the Desert Veterans Department assists veterans in their path to educational opportunities. The department is located in the Cravens Student Services Center Building in Room 125 on the east end of the building. Donni Prince is the Veteran’s specialist.

Their services are not limited to veterans. Military active duty member’s spouses may also benefit from their resources.  The VA Certifying Official also assists veterans in helping with military spousal financial aid.  According to Prince, she advises students to “check with the base education office for scholarship programs and see if they are eligible. Once they fill out the application she will then help to process and finalize everything.”

Sandra Hauf who is the counselor for the department assists students in picking courses as well as offering helpful tips on certain classes that are transferable to those interested in transferring to a 4-year college. In addition, Hauf knows helpful tools to aid students with Learning Disabilities.
