In the final year of the Humana sponsorship, the Humana Challenge is going out with a bang. When word came out that Phil Mickelson was going to come to the desert to compete in the challenge, the desert could not have been more excited. Phil is an eight time PGA Champion and former winner of the Humana Challenge back in 2002 and 2004.

Mickelson is not the only list of big name golfers to commit to the Challenge early on. Others include European powerhouses Ian Poulter, former World No.1 Luke Donald and Gonzalo Fernando-Castano, as well as Francesco Mollinari. Also among the early commitments are former American PGA Champions Keegan Bradley, Jason Dufner, Zach Johnson and Fedex Cup Champion Billy Horschel.

Along with all the PGA Champions, there will be many celebrities as well. According to Bob Marra, “the exact list won’t be released until January.”

Marra stated that the tournament attendees was the result of. “A little bit of luck, and little bit of skill and we have a great field.” In addition, there will be a gourmet food truck area at Bob Hope Square. The tournament starts Jan. 19 and will conclude Jan. 26.

Tickets are available locally at multiple Lumpy’s locations in La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, and at the PGA Superstore in Palm Desert. Ground tickets are also available on the Humana Challenge website: humanachallenge.com with a 25% discount until Jan. 5.
