Tutors at the COD Tutoring and Academic Skills Center (TASC) are getting an extra treat this week.

Since 2002, college tutors are recognized during national tutoring week.  From Oct. 5 to Oct. 9, 2015, COD will be honoring approximately 50 tutors with snacks.  In addition, large and small thank you cards were made available for students to sign to be presented to the tutors.

Vanessa Potter, assistant tutorial coordinator, said, “national tutoring week is a great way for our TASC staff and students to recognize and thank our tutors for the role they play in student’s success.”  Potter added that, “tutors are available for: math, science, writing, computer lab, accounting, statistics, and foreign language.”  A schedule is available for the students.

Each campus location has TASC services, although at Indio and Mecca/Thermal, the services may differ slightly.

During the 2014 – 2015 year, students logged in approximately 91,000 student hours for all three campuses, according to Terri Fleck, TASC assistant.

Students are encouraged to come to TASC for this free service that should help with their classes.  Students wanting to use TASC should remember to have their student ID number in order to log in upon their arrival.
