‘Don Vito’ Margera dies at 59

Best known as Bam Margera’s uncle on the MTV’s show “Jackass” and “Viva La Bam”, Vincent ‘Don Vito’ Margera, died Nov. 15, due to liver and kidney failure.

His sister-in-law, April Margera, told NBC news that he had been in an out of a Philadelphia hospital since spring. Don Vito died at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, Pennsylvania. “It’s good he’s no longer in pain, but it’s so sad.” April Margera said.

Both shows, “Jackass” and “Viva La Bam”,¬†showcased some recording time of Bam playing practical jokes on his uncle.

Jackass co-star, Johnny Knoxville, tweeted about Don Vito’s death on Sunday and wrote,”RIP Don Vito, you will be missed.”

Before his death, Don Vito ran into trouble in 2006, and was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault on a child and was sentenced to ten years probation.

This is not the first death the “Jackass” family had to deal with. Ryan Dunn, also a star on the show, died in June 2011, in a car accident at the age of 34.
