College of the Desert recently announced the launching of the new COD Job Hub,  its free online job and internship board that helps students to find jobs easily.

The COD Job Hub is a one-stop destination for employment needs that is available to students, alumni, and employers of COD 24/7. This online employment site allows members of COD to find and post jobs, internships, and student worker positions.

According to COD’s website, the COD Job Hub includes 350 career related short videos. It has an assessment that links results to O*Net where job outlook/options and salary information can be found, provided by the U.S. Department of Labor. Students are also able to connect with the career center and receive career prep advice.

The site provides students with the opportunity to make connections with business and industry, allowing students to chat with career development professionals.

The COD Job Hub helps keep track of important employment events, such as career fairs and on-campus recruiting. In the future it may be used as an events manager to coordinate, market, schedule, and receive RSVP’s for workshops, career/job fairs, and other special career events on campus.

The smartphone app for Android and Apple phones are coming mid-October, so students can easily access the board at all times.

For more information, contact Michelle Richards at 760-862-1344 or visit the Work Experience Office, located on campus in the Business Building, Room 1K.
