College of the Desert’s (COD) Career Center will host its annual Career Fair on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in the Hilb Building on the Palm Desert Campus from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Employers, located in and around the Coachella Valley, will be looking for full time, part-time and internship candidates. Additionally, employers will be available to provide information to students about career paths in their industries. Door prizes will be raffled off to those who attend. To add to the festivities, KCOD will broadcast live outside the HILB during the event.
This event is an opportunity for students to explore a variety of careers and jobs located in the community. In the past more than 45 employers have attended the annual career fair. As some employers may hold job interviews, students should come prepared with a resume, list of questions and be properly dressed. Representatives will be available to answer questions, provide job descriptions and inform students about their various job opportunities. Many of College of the Desert’s own programs will be available for students to learn about the career pathways offered at COD.
Students can better prepare themselves for the Career Fair by attending the Career Readiness Workshops. These workshops will not only improve the student’s resume, interview, networking and dressing for success skills, but will also earn students an extra raffle ticket for the Career Fair door prizes!
This year, the Career Center is excited to welcome Goldenvoice LLC, Agua Caliente, Robert Half, Farley Interlocking Pavingstones, Maxim Healthcare, Marriott Vacations Worldwide, the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands, Heather James Fine Art, Time Warner Cable, Palm Springs Air Museum, PSAV, Universal Protection Service and many more.
