Both locally and in the Los Angeles area, there are several different options for winter fun this year. Here are some suggestions:

  • Ice skating at the new rink open from Nov. 22 – Jan. 8, at The River in Rancho Mirage
  •  Disneyland, Universal Studios, or Knott’s Berry Farm’s Christmas celebration held throughout the month of December
  • Chill, a winter wonderland for all ages located at the Queen Mary in Long Beach  from Dec. 3 – Jan. 8.  The theme of the event this year is Alice in Winterland, and will be decorated following the Alice in Wonderland story plot
  • Going on a day trip or a camping trip to Big Bear or Idyllwild. There’s bound to be snow during the winter months
  • The Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade on Dec. 3
  •  Living Desert’s WildLights Christmas event held from Nov. 23 – Dec. 24
  • The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Not only is the weather cooler at the top of the mountain, but there are many hiking trails you can take, even to Idyllwild
  • Robolights, a unique art display of Christmas lights and sculptures located in Palm Springs from Dec. 1 – Jan. 8
  • Attending the Palm Springs VillageFest street fair every Thursday night on the Palm Springs strip. The event is fun and free for all ages
  • Watching Christmas movies of course! What is a better way of getting into the spirit than that?
