The Office of Student Life is dedicated to helping the students of College of the Desert in anyway possible. It is located in the Dining Hall Building and is open from 8a.m. to 8p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8a.m. to 5p.m. on Fridays.
The Office of Student Life has many responsibilities. Not only is it a place where students are able to use the computer lab to print or do other school work, but students can also find out about active clubs on campus or can create a club using the charter packet provided by the Office of Student Life. Students are also able to use the charging station within the main office or use the phone or fax documents for a small fee. The main office also holds meetings for the Inter Club Council (ICC), which includes all the club representatives, and the Associated Students of College of the Desert Student Senate (ASCOD) where student senate members meet. The office is also responsible for the lounge area and the game room located next door in the Dining Hall Building next to the lounge area.
The lounge is a place where students are able to eat food and drinks while mingling with other students. There is also a copy machine inside for students to use, however it cost 15 cents to use it. The game room, which is next to the lounge, is a room that has three flat screen TV’s so students can plugin any game console they would like as long as the game room is open. Besides TV the room also has board games and a pool table. The room is also used as a storage for clubs items used in upcoming events.
