Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a live-action film based off the original animated version that is set to hit theaters March 17 in theaters worldwide. Many talented actors including Harry Potter star Emma Watson and Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf from Frozen. Disney will bring the classic animated film to life.

The soundtrack includes contributions from Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, John Legend, Ariana Grande and more. The main duet title “Beauty and the Beast” is sung by Ariana Grande and John Legend and written by Howard Ashman and Alan MenKen. The director, Bill Condon, made sure it stayed true to the original version by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson. Celine Dion also has a song on the soundtrack titled “How Does a Moment Last Forever.”

Some COD students are excited to see this film for many reasons, all having different expectations.

“It’s a Disney movie, I grew up a Disney addict. I’m seeing it just because it’s Disney, maybe for the actors. I probably won’t see it once it comes out,” said COD student, Laura Brooks.

“I think it’s going to be interesting, I want to see how they change it and what they keep. Especially now that there is a lot of cultural differences. It will be interesting to see what they have re-done or taken out,” said COD student, Jessica Murillo.

“I’m into arts and film so when I see a movie I pay attention to the story and how well everything is edited, basically sound effects and the music orchestra in the background. Plus, I just like Emma Watson,” said COD student, Daniel Zepeda.

“The fact that it’s a live action Disney movie, and I love live action, that’s really one of the best things for me so I’m excited to see the live action Disney film,” said COD student, Nesandre Smith.

“I don’t care, I’d rather just watch the original animated version because I like the animated one a lot,” said COD student, Jenna Gleeson.
