The 16th Annual Spring Joshua Tree Music Festival kicks off May 17 – 20. The Joshua Tree Music Festival is a family-friendly global music experience that offers something for the whole family. Similar to our CoachellaFest that offers attendees a two-weekend event, Joshua Tree Music Festival offers a two seasoned event with one taking place in the spring (May) and another in the fall (October).
The bi-annual Joshua Tree Music Festival was founded in 2003 by Barnett English and is held at the Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground. “I drove in at night, then awoke to the magical sweeping views of the Joshua Tree National Park and the Copper Mountains. I then met with the owners of the RV & Lake Campgrounds and told them it would be a great site for a music festival. I was able to go from there, invited some people over and the seed was planted.” said English.
Nestled against the Copper Mountains with sweeping views of the Joshua Tree National Park, the 40 acres, a privately owned venue is ideal for this intimate festival. The campgrounds feature plenty of space for car and RV hook-ups and hiking is a short stroll from the lake area and music bowl. Two stages, a farmers market and organic food purveyors will be available at the 4-day festival. The live music alternates continuously on both stages in the same area so you won’t have to walk almost a mile away like the stages at Coachella.
What separates this festival from others in the valley is that it is kid friendly, creating an all age audience. This festival also brings in musical artists from around the world. The lineup features talented artists who are not yet household names, meaning you probably haven’t heard any of them on the radio. Aside from discovering new music, the campgrounds will be surrounded by amazing visual art installations, live art, kidsville, playshops, a shaded yoga & healing stage and plenty of food and beverage vendors.
The Joshua Tree Music Festival has a little bit of everything from food, music, art, yoga and even a place for kids to enjoy their time. Joshua Tree Music Festival will return again in the fall, Oct. 4-7. Tickets are available online at www.joshuatreemusicfestival.com
