The Chaparral

The Chaparral news is published by journalism students at College of the Desert who are enrolled in J-004 AB & C. Students traditionally publish 5 printed editions throughout the semester but due to COVID-19, they are focusing on publishing online only. The Chaparral newsroom is located at 72915 Park View Drive Palm Desert, Calif. 92260. Students started meeting in person during the fall 2021 semester. They hold staff meetings and work in the newsroom during lab time in person. The newspaper is free to the students and staff. Editorials are the opinion of the editorial board and do not necessarily reflect the views of the student body, staff, or administration. Letters to the editor must be emailed to The Chaparral newsroom one week prior to publishing dates. The email is [email protected]. Letters are subject to editing for space, libel, obscenity, and disruption of the educational process.

The Chaparral is located in the Media Center across the street from College of the Desert’s Palm Desert campus off Monterey Avenue and Park View Drive. Guests can park off Acacia and Park View Dr. COD Students can park across the street on campus in the student permit parking areas.
