About the Chaparral

Our newspaper is fully digital this year and reaches students, faculty and staff at College of the Desert. According to Institutional Research, College of the Desert served its highest number of students in the college’s history and boasted the largest graduating class in Spring 2019.

GENDER: 58% female, 41% male, non-binary 1%.

AGE: 398% were 19 or younger, 26% between 20-24, 11% between 25-29, 8% between 30-34, 5%between 35-39, 7% between 40-49 and 5% were 50 or older.

ETHNICITY: African American 3%, Asian 5%, Hispanic 76%, Native American 1%, Other/Unreported 2%, Pacific Islander 0%, White 14%.
