Coachella and the lesser-known artists

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (Coachella) soon after they announced the 2017 lineup tickets were sold out in about three hours for both weekends. 

Lady Gaga replaced Beyoncé due to her pregnancy with twins, will now headline the two Saturday nights on April 15 & 22, while Radiohead headlines the Friday nights and Kendrick Lamar on the two Sunday evenings. 

Once you get past the headliners, however, Coachella is offering hip-hop artists: Travis Scott, Future, Gucci Mane, Schoolboy Q. Eletronic Dance Music (EDM) artists: Justice, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, Dillon Francis, Porter Robinson & Madeon. For anyone who isn’t a hip-hop or EDM fan: Lorde, The xx, Kaytranada and Future Islands. 

The Empire Polo Grounds will be hosting many talents. Coachella-goers have a variety of music to hear, in which they can listen to unknown artists.

Small acts such as, The Avalanches is an Australian group after releasing one album back in the 2000’s, “Since I Left you.” After a long hiatus they finally rewarded their fans with the release of a ten-years-in-the-making follow-up, “Wildflower.” Now, the duo of Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi are ready to take Coachella. This will be their first Coachella appearance and first scheduled U.S. performance in 15 years.

Mitski, The New York City singer-songwriter had one of 2016’s  “Best new album”  for “Puberty 2,”according to Pitchfork, a sonically collection of atmospheric, punk-tinged folk-rock “Your Best American Girl” and “My Body’s Made of Crushed Little Stars,” Mitski’s popular song from her album.

Alison Swing, according to her Facebook is a student of rhythm, Swing has dedicated herself to exploring sounds that can make a body move. She is also a co-founder and resident DJ of Dig Deeper, She plays warm house, euphoric disco, Scandinavian beats, romantic techno, and everything in between “the weirder and funkier, the better.” She has Dj around the world, gigs such as in Germany, Mexico, and now Coachella. 

Coachella will be a highlight for everyone. Even though the tickets are sold out online. Coachella website reports that they’re happy to announce an opportunity for local valley resident to purchase full price general admission for Coachella. Tickets will be sold on April 12 for weekend 1 & weekend 2,  April 19 at the Indian wells Tennis Garden box office, from 9:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. or while supplies last.
