Latin Kings of Comedy performing in Coachella

The Latin Kings of Comedy, featuring Paul Rodriguez, Manny Maldonado and Joey Medina, will perform at Spotlight 29 in Coachella Sept. 23 at 8 p.m.

Rodriguez, one of America’s best known comics, was ranked #74 on Comedy Central’s list of “100 Greatest Standups of All Time.” He has appeared in such feature films as Born in East L.A., Tortilla Soup, and Ali.

Maldonado, who tried standup for the first time on a dare, has performed on stage for 20 years and has been with The Latin Kings of Comedy for ten years. He has worked alongside Dave Attell, Dave Chappelle and Tommy Davidson and has appeared on Comedy Central, ABC and BET. When asked what Maldonado likes most about touring with The Latin Kings of Comedy, he stated, “working with great people, and my mentor, comedy legend, Paul Rodriguez.”

Medina, who has also performed with Latin Kings of Comedy for ten years, has more than 50 television appearances under his belt, including his own Showtime special, “Joey Medina: Taking Off the Gloves.” He has appeared alongside Russell Peters, Cheech Marin, George Lopez and Danny Trejo. According to Latin Style Magazine, “Joey Medina is one of the few comedians that can bridge together urban with mainstream comedy to make his style a hit throughout the country.”

Rodriguez said, “Everybody really needs to laugh…If you don’t laugh, you’re not going to live long.” With a lineup consisting of such well-seasoned comedians, there is sure to be muchas risas!
